\nWith ones who hear news
\n“The tests were positive”
\nWe keep watch with them as terror rises
\nAs blood runs cold<\/p>\n

In this hour
\nWe keep watch in skyscrapers
\nWith ones whose children say
\n“When will daddy be home?”
\nWe keep watch as heat rises
\nAs blood ties break<\/p>\n

In this hour
\nWe keep watch on ferries and planes
\nWith ones waiting for
\n“Emergency over”
\nWe keep watch with them as water rises
\nAs blood pumps loudly in the ears<\/p>\n

In this hour
\nWe keep watch in a garden
\nWith\u00a0the one<\/em> who says
\n“Not my will”
\nWe keep watch as friends sleep
\nAs blood sweat drips.<\/p>\n

This is the hour of darkness
\nThe hubub of mad confusion
\nDark terror reigns<\/p>\n

In this hour, we watch and pray.<\/p>\n
